Thank you so much for showing an interest in my web page. I hope you enjoy my blog and I look forward to sharing some information about my illustrations with you soon. Sometimes I can, like probably every mummy, feel completely overwhelmed with the task of being a mum that I find I loose myself in it. Having my own outlet that I can work flexibly from home around my growing family has been key to me regaining a sense of self as well as contribute to the financial security of our household.
A little about me I am mum to two boys under 5. I have a ridiculously varied working background, with experience in many sectors including retail, health and safety, illustration and design and even plumbing and property maintenance. I would put this down to me always searching for the right fit as well as being adaptable. It wasn't until I started my family that I realised the right fit for me was being a mummy. However, I still felt like I needed to be someone outside of that, I still needed to be Emily. That's when it all slotted into place - I could do my illustrations from home, picking and choosing my own hours, socialising and networking with other like minded adults who don't cry when 'Chuggington' is finished or wipe their noses on me, whilst still having time to be at home with my family...having noses wiped on me.
My family I am married to my best friend David, he works hard as a mechanic to provide for us, so that I can be home with our sons Travis - who is four now and just started Reception - and Coby - who is almost one. All three of them drive me utterly insane but I wouldn't ever be without them.
